If you ask me about Australia, I would say that it is one of the safest places to live in. People are real friendly with a ready smile. As far as the attacks are concerned, I was not even aware of them till my dad called me to ask how I was doing. These things don't happen through out Melbourne, there are a few suburbs which are not too safe, for anyone for that matter, and we all need to be careful. One thing we all need to remember is that we are living in another country and trying to make a living there. We need to follow their rules and respect the people. We all need to make sure that we mind our own business and try to be friendly with all the other races as well.
As far as the jobs are concerned, I would advise people coming to Melbourne that they be prepared for everything for at least, a minimum of 6 months, as it is taking a long time for one to find a job. Despite of all this, I would still say that Australia is a great place to live and learn, and one shouldn't miss the opportunity to live there as it is a great experience.
Hello satish,
I am doing good in Gold Coast, as far as i know all of my Indian friends are doing well....CQU campus is good with friendly staff.....Gold Coast is not much affected with whatever happened in Sydney or Melbourne.....i find people here friendly & didn't see any racial discrimination so far !!!....life in big cities like Brisbane ,Sydney & Melbourne is much different from small cities like Gold Coast.....u will find too many foreigners in big cities...& of-course there would be clashes between loacal's & foreigners if most of the jobs are overtaken by foreigners......I believe that’s what happening in those cities...Indians are talented & hard workers so will easily find jobs when compared to few lazy locals....i heard Australian government is coming up with new law in protecting foreigners !!!!....hope new laws will stop racial attacks upto some extent if not full!...new students whoever planning to come Australia should makeup their minds & mentally prepared for all the scenarios....they should enquire thoroughly about the university & the city they are going to stay....that’s all I can suggest
Hi Santoshi,
How are you??... hope all's well at ur end...
Am sorry that i'm replying so late but I certainly hope its still good worthy enough to reply.
Coming to security issue in Australia..
In my opinion its not that bad as its being blown up... we do see on net how certain channels are making it such a large issue... they are blowing it out of proportion..
I myself and many of my friends work at night sometimes and its not that bad from safety point of view at stations or public places or roads or anything.
Once in a while few small incidents happen but they are not racial and just opportunistic..
These things happen everywhere, even in or own country and around the world.
From safety point of view Australia is fine in my opinion...
I am fine and my collage is pretty good, and even I got a job in caltex service station I thank.Q very much for every ting u have dun for me and the concern shown about my wellbeing in Australia.
I am fine here. I got exams from next week. So preparing for exams. well even my parents called me couple of times and told me not to go to job, coz it will 12.30am by the time I reach home after my job. But the conditions here are not so bad like the media creating mess in India. If your time is not good, you have to face with this types of bashing and stabbings. So I am not much worried about this mess.
Thank you very much for your mail, MY wishes to Prasanth & Srinivas, Thanks again for your help, care& concern about me
